Hoorah! We've made it guys, a release date has finally been announced for the hugely anticipated Maxis game Spore!
The grand date you should be marking your calendars with is 7th September 2008! Just 7 months away. I was contacted today by MaxisCactus, the Community Manager from Maxis to let us know of this fantastic piece of information.
Along with this, I was notified of a new video posted to the official Spore site which you should watch if you haven't done so already: New Spore Video. It tells us the release date, and thankfully includes the Maxis logo, going against fears that the Maxis name had finally been totally absorbed by EA!
MaxisCactus says, "For those of you craving more eye candy, or just a peek into the game, keep a look out for several new assets that will be posted to Spore.com in the next few days. These will include creature pictures as well as game play screenshots which you can also post up on your own sites". Exciting stuff!
Stay tuned, and Happy Sporing
Greetings everyone! As you may know, the release date of Spore is getting nearer everyday. Rumours are abound that the game will be released this Spring.
SporeSome was established 3 years ago in 2005. Since then, news has been sluggish and the site has come to a complete stop. However, now that the buzz surrounding the game is beginning to pick up pace once more, SporeSome will be redeveloped in the coming months to bring you the latest Spore news and media, as well as a few surprises.
Until then. however, Happy Sporing!
Just a quick note; I've decided to give SporeSome a slightly new look as you may have noticed, as well as a proper logo which uses Spore's newly revealed logo.
There's still a few minor details which need to be fixed and updated, so don't be alarmed if you see a few odd things around the site.
What with this years E3 event currently taking place, the updates on Spore are forever rolling in!
First things first, Spore's official E3 trailer has been released on the newly updated official Spore site, which is in a similar format to the flash introduction except using 3D graphics and effects.
The newly updated official Spore site also includes 8 new screenshots from the game, and shows the game's new logo.
Secondly, GameSpot have posted 2 new previews of Spore, on of which goes into detail about the creature editor and the other about the game in general. You can find them here.
And if that isn't enough, IGN has posted a new video showing the creature editor, which you can find here!
Spore's release date may have been pushed back to February 2007, a new GameSpot article has announced.
"It seems Will Wright's Spore needs a little more time in the Petri dish, as the retailer is listing a February 1, 2007, release for the ambitious simulation game."
You can read the article here.
Welcome to SporeSome, a spin-off site of SimSational. This site is here to bring you up-to-date news and information on Maxis' and Will Wright's new game Spore. The site will be running alongside SimSational which will be used for Sim games (primarily The Sims 2 and SimCity 4).
Yup, the name of the site carries on the trend of crap word playing for site names, a la SimSational (Sensational). Incase you're wondering, the word being played with here is Awseome.
I hope you enjoy the site! I have added a page to the library section about the game, and you can also find a load of screenshots, all accessible from the menu on the left as always.
So, Happy erm.. Sporing?
